Tomatoes and Vitiligo ? (Nightshade plants)

Since some people with Vitiligo said that they avoid eating tomatoes, I've been trying to find more info on this.
I know it seems ridiculous..... maybe there's no connection between Tomatoes and Vitiligo anyway, maybe there is, I don't know. I'm just exploring all possibilities.

Tomato is one of the nightshade plants.
Nightshade plants includes tomatoes, potatoes, bell peppers, chilis and paprikas.

Cons :
Tomatoes are considered sour fruits, which some people advices to avoid if you have Vitiligo.
Tomatoes also have quite a high level of Vitamin C, and we know that Vit C inhibits melanin production.
The nightshade plants also contain solanine, especially green tomatoes and damaged potatoes or potatoes that's been exposed to the sun, which may worsen arthritis in some people and may cause solanine poisoning.
Macrobiotic diet eliminates all nightshade plants including tomatoes, potatoes, bell peppers, chilis and paprikas.
What is macrobiotic diet ?
"A macrobiotic diet is a dietary regimen that involves eating grains as a staple food supplemented with other foodstuffs such as vegetables and beans, and avoiding the use of highly processed or refined foods"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macrobiotic_diet
and What does macrobiotic diet's got to do with Vitiligo anyway ?
I don't know.... I'm not even on a macrobiotic diet, maybe unconsciously because rice has been the staple diet of mine for half of my life, but if tomatoes are not adviced in a certain diet, there's gotta be a good reason to it, right ?

Pros :
Tomatoes actually has a lot of nutrients in it (antioxidant)
It is said to be very alkaline which is good,
and tomatoes are a good source of beta carotene and lycopene.

So should we stop eating all nightshade plants ?
Avoiding tomatoes has been mentioned here
(But there's no definite connection to Vitiligo, it was just mentioned.)
search the page using ctrl+f and type "nightshade"

For me....
I barely eat potatoes anymore,
I don't really eat bell peppers and paprikas.
Chilis sometimes only, when someone cooks and adds chili to give a mild heat to the taste.
What I eat quite often are tomatoes.

Should we stop eating Tomatoes ?
Some said tomatoes are to be avoided because it has quite a lot of Vitamin C , which we know might inhibit melanin (pigment) production.
It is also said that it contains solanine, which is not good in general.

But I know I'm not going to eat tomatoes everyday.
So I think I'll benefit from all the Lycopene and Beta carotene from the tomatoes every once in a while. :)
